RadRock launched the PAMiD RF front-end module
2021.05.07
As a well-known RF device supplier in the industry, Radstone launched the PAMiD RF front-end module earlier to meet the inevitable demand for RF front-end modularization of Cat.1/4 and other IoT module products, and the products further meet the domestic PAMiD module market demand.

As the withdrawal of 2G and 3G networks becomes inevitable, several core IoT technologies based on NB-IoT+4G+5GNR will take on the task of opening the Internet of Everything. Among them, Cat.1/4 is the industry-recognized connection technology that will bear the load mainly for voice and medium-rate scenarios. At the same time, it requires not so high network speed, but requires stable and reliable, voice-supporting, and low-cost LTE things. The growing demand for connectivity in the networking industry has also made Cat.1 the current medium-speed, especially low- and medium-speed Internet of Things market.

On March 10, 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Notice on Further Promoting the Comprehensive Development of the Mobile Internet of Things (Draft for Solicitation of Comments)", which mentioned that "cooperating with Cat.1 to meet the needs of medium-rate Internet of Things and voice requirements." The release of this opinion draft has also become a fuse to detonate the Cat.1 market. According to the latest report from Counterpoint Research, a market research organization, by 2025, the global IoT cellular connection is expected to exceed the 5 billion mark, and China will continue To occupy nearly two-thirds of the number of connections to maintain a leading position in the world. Among them, 4G LTE Internet of Things connections will account for more than one-third of the global Internet of Things cellular connections. At the same time, TSR predicts that the LTE Cat.1 industry will maintain a rapid growth trend in the next few years, with a compound growth rate of 122% from 2020 to 2023. According to estimates by domestic head IoT module suppliers, the Cat.1 market will be launched in 2021. The goods will reach about 120 million to 150 million units.

As more and more IoT customers seek RF modular solutions to speed up product development and reduce module area, RF modularity will help solve the challenges caused by industrial IoT RF performance debugging and mass production consistency. Modularity can also improve the ease of product development, shorten the time to market and reduce costs, and launch smaller and more competitive products. In order to support customers in the development of forward-looking products, RadRock always keeps up with the latest market trends , Use innovative technology and design to meet customer needs.

In response to the requirements of IoT module customers for cost and miniaturization, RadRock launched PAMiD RF front-end module RR68030-11/21 to meet the requirements of Cat.1/4 and other IoT market miniaturized and compact, RF debugging easy-to-use PAMiD products, products integrate power amplifier (PA), filter (Filter), switch (Switch), passive device module (IPD) and other devices. RR68030-11 has been equipped with domestic head module customer products to achieve the industry's smallest size Cat.1 module, and the cumulative shipment of more than one million, the head module customer based on the latest Cat.1 SOC size and with RR68030-11 will evolve the Cat.1 module area to the smallest 17mm*16mm in history.

      Main features of RR68030-11:

-Covering the main domestic frequency bands Band1/3/5/8/34/39/40/41

-Integrated B1/3/5/8 duplexer, B34/39/40/41 transmit/receive filter

-Support transmitting AUX port (high frequency*1, intermediate frequency*2, low frequency*2)

-Support 5 transmit/receive ports

-Meet Cat1/4 power requirements at the antenna port (> 23dBm@partial RB/E-UTRA -38dBc)

-Built-in coupler

-Built-in WiFi trap to solve coexistence
